Seven seats on the 12-member/12-alternate member board are up for election, according to a news release from the Irvine, Calif.-based board. Two producer seats, three producer alternate seats, one importer seat and one importer alternate seat are open.
Six of the new members will serve three-year terms beginning Nov. 1 One member will serve a one-year term beginning Nov. 1.
The USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service oversees the board, which was founded in 2002. The 12-member board oversees the organization’s promotion, research and information programs.
