The campaign is dubbed “A Breath of Fresh Berries” and runs through the end of April.
“Consumers will be encouraged to send photos of their favorite outdoor spring activities, but not required to send them as part of the campaign,” said Cindy Jewell, director of marketing.
Each week in April, California Giant plans to give an activity-themed prize pack to a random entry received through its website, social media or quick response code scans. The QR codes appear on retail packaging.
Items from California Giant’s cycling sponsors, such as bike helmets and Clif Bars, will be included in the prize packs.
A smaller prize will go to any consumer submitting a photo that includes the company’s berries, Jewell said.
