Oneonta Starr Ranch Growers was packing its sweetest, biggest cherries of the season in the second half of July.

“The timing could not be better for those July ads,” Scott Marboe, the Wenatchee, Wash.-based company’s marketing director, said in a news release. “We’re starting to get into those orchards we were waiting for. We’re now seeing our second peak of the season right through the end of July.”

Oneonta Starr Ranch is advising retailers to display cherries front and center for brisk movement.

Also in mid-July, the company reported excellent color, sizing and flavor and promotable volumes of apricots. Peaches and nectarines should start shipping in volume by the end of July, Marboe said.
