DoleDole Chile is spending $20 million to renovate several of its facilities.

Santiago-based Dole Chile is revamping its Coquimbo and Rancagua facilities and expanding its Curico plant, said Francisco Chacon, the company’s marketing director.

“We expect to have a more efficient operation with cost reduction with this investment,” Chacon said.

Larger capacity at the Coquimbo and Rancagua plants will enable Dole Chile to expand its grape and stone fruit volumes. That should translate to greater volumes of those commodities exported to the U.S., Chacon said.

New technology in the facilities will help Dole chile improve its productivity and increase efficiency, thereby reducing costs, according to a Dole Chile news release.

Dole Chile exports grapes, apples, kiwifruit, pears, plums, cherries, nectarines and peaches.
