Pacificpro Inc. has added four staff members, including three in sales, as part of an expansion at the Bellevue, Wash.-based fruit and vegetable shipper.
Brian Cezar and Lauren Santos are sales associates, and Matt Frisone works in sales and procurement. Terrill Bird was named transportation manager.
All four positions are new, said Randy Hartmann, vice president.
Pacificpro’s main commodities are apples and pears, but it also ships cherries, potatoes, onions, asparagus and rhubarb.
Sales volume has grown at least 30% in the last year, Hartmann said.
“We handle procurement, inspection, transportation and the entire process for wholesalers, retailers and foodservice,” he said. “We work from Maine to Miami and generally everywhere in between. We needed extra hands in here to help with the growth we’ve experienced.”
The fruits and vegetables are marketed under clients’ labels.
Hartmann’s father, Craig Hartmann, is president of Pacificpro. His grandfather, Bill Hartmann, was a co-founder of Welch Fruit Sales and a former chairman of the Washington Apple Commission.
