Cristie Mather, director of communications, said retailers can contact the bureau and get a USB drive that includes everything they need to create pear signage for their stores.
“With this, we even give them recommendations for the type of paper to use so they can do it in-house or take it to an office store like Kinko’s,” she said at Fresh Summit 2012.
The kits offer step-by-step instructions to create signage for all types of pears, including any type of information the retailer wants.
The kits include photography, general copy suggestions, Quick Response codes and even nutritional messages from programs like Fruits and Veggies — More Matters and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s MyPlate icon.
Retailers also can customize with their own logos as well, Mather said. The kits are available now.
