The Tri-Color Asparagus pack offers purple, green and white bunches of asparagus for retail and foodservice customers.

The foodservice pack includes an 11-pound box with four bunches of green, four bunches of white and three bunches of purple asparagus.

“This gives chefs the opportunity to try something different during fall and the holidays,” said Brian Miller, Gourmet Trading’s vice president of sales, in a news release.

For retail, each 1-pound bag includes one bunch each of the three colors. The pack will help lift asparagus for holiday sales, said Julia Inestroza, Gourmet Trading’s marketing director, in the release.

“This gives consumers the chance to try all three colors of asparagus, encouraging repeat sales of green, white and purple asparagus,” she said.

Tri-Color Asparagus packs ship 11x1-pound bunches and 11x1-pound tri-color bagged. The company also offers its bunched purple asparagus, grown in Peru, in 5-pound and 11-pound cases through the end of the season in December.

Just found this pack in my local store and am psyched to have this unusual vegetable collection for dinner tonight. A suggestion though - post some interesting recipes to play the pack up! I found exactly one recipe on a web search (simple salad with a blend of separately purchased white, green, and purple asparagus). I'd like some suggestions on ways to really play up the colors and textures. At $6.99 a pack it's too expensive for me to experiment! Thanks!
