CHICAGO — Waiblingen, Germany-based Bosch Packaging Technology debuted the Pack 301 ID Inverted Long Dwell Flow Wrapper at Pack Expo 2012 Oct. 28-31 at McCormick Place.

It is geared for gentle transportation of products such as fresh produce by carrying them on top of the film, minimizing jams and protecting package appearance. It is specifically designed for produce and other soft products that are difficult to handle using a traditional upright flow wrapper design or that require modified-atmosphere packaging, said Janet Turley, account manager for ABI marketing public relations, which represents Bosch.

Jon Otto, sales support supervisor, said the new product not only offers “simple, quick changeover and access” but also increases run speeds up to 20%.

“Celery, onions and things like that can be placed directly on the film and then get pushed along” through the packaging process, Otto said.
