Courtesy Comedy CentralCalifornia Endive Farms played a surprise starring role on a recent episode of Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report.”

On his Oct. 29 show, host Stephen Colbert mentioned that he had discussed endive on a previous show. He then showed the audience a letter from Rich Collins, president of Rio Vista-based California Endive Farms, congratulating Colbert on pronouncing endive correctly.

Colbert read the letter out loud, then put the complimentary box of endive Collins mailed with the letter on his desk.

At that point, rap music started playing and Colbert began throwing the endive in the air, rapping about “making it rain” endive.

You should rewatch the Colbert clip. The endive producer's letter congratulated Colbert on pronouncing the name correctly, not to correct his pronunciation.
