“The new website has been designed with colorful graphics, easy navigation and useful information consumers tell us they want to know about leafy greens food safety,” April Ward, LGMA communications director, said in a news release.
It offers sections on farm food safety; producers; varieties and growing regions; and the LGMA certification mark. Also described are the LGMA food safety model and the six principle elements of its program.
Beyond that, the site features recipes and tips for safe home handling of leafy greens.
“Our hope is that consumers will visit the site, that retail and foodservice operators will use it as a resource for talking to their customers about leafy greens food safety, and that the media will visit to learn more about this important program,” Ward said in the release.
