Rocket Farms integrates HerbThyme operation

Rocket FarmsThe integration of sales and marketing functions of the former HerbThyme Farms into the operations of Rocket Farms Herbs Inc., Salinas, Calif., is complete, with all operations now under the Rocket Farms name.

The Salinas-based company bought all of the assets of the Perrysburg, Ohio-based HerbThyme herb growing operation in December 2012. Justin Dautoff, president of Rocket Farms Herbs, led the consolidation of administrative functions, according to a news release.

With the integration complete, Howard Roeder, HerbThyme president, has decided to leave the business, according to the release.

With the acquisition of HerbThyme’s operation, Rocket Farms Herbs plans to expand services to retail and foodservice customers who need fresh-cut and potted herbs, the release said.

Charles Kosmont, president of Rocket Farms’ parent company Monterey Peninsula Horticulture, said in the release that the larger company’s scale and speed to market will help provide service to customers.

Rocket Farms has about 185 acres of greenhouse space and specializes in organic herbs and vegetables, potted culinary herbs, orchids and other flowers.
