The company has purchased an 11-acre site with a 50,000-square foot concrete tilt-up structure that it plans to renovate, according to a news release.
The facility will include a raw product room, cold room, observation deck, food safety, quality and new product development laboratories.
Other features include a shipping office and a 12-door loading dock. Sales and accounting will be onsite in a separate building.
“We will be able to process all core items under one roof, maximize sustainability and meet all current and future food safety standards,” Travis Pendleton, chief operating officer of Yuma, Ariz.-based GreenGate Fresh, said in the release.
The new facility will use clean room technology, Pendleton said.
GreenGate was founded in 2009.
