Toronto, Canada-based Boncheff Greenhouses has voluntarily recalled cilantro and two parsley varieties as a precaution against salmonella.

The items had been repacked and distributed in New York and Pennsylvania after purchase from J&D Produce, according to a news release. The Edinburg, Texas-based company had voluntarily recalled Little Bear brand commodities in Canada after tests found salmonella in curly parsley in Quebec and cilantro in Detroit.

No illnesses were reported in either recall. Canadian officials issued a health hazard alert to consumers Dec. 27.

The Boncheff recall is for Italian parsley, curly parsley and cilantro shipped to the Canadian grower Dec. 6 by J&D Produce. The items were sold under the Wegmans Food You Feel Good About label at two Wegmans Food Markets in Erie, Pa., and most Wegmans stores in New York. They also sold under the Boncheff brand at five other New York markets in Buffalo, North Tonawanda, Farmington, Wellsville and Webster.
