J&J Produce, Loxahatachee, Fla., hired new employees in their operations, sales and food safety departments. The company, specializing in cucumbers, bell peppers, squash, tomatoes and eggplant production, looks to expand to a national platform with these new hires, according to a news release.
“Aggressive business goals and capital expansions are creating new pathways for business growth to meet the needs of new and existing companies and talented people in every part of our business make that possible,” said vice president of development and marketing, Brian Rayfield.
David Beecher is the new vice president of operations, overseeing facilities in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Arizona and the Dominican Republic. Beecher worked in the produce industry for 13 years in various positions at Bland Farms, Rosemont Farms and IFCO Systems before J&J.
Mike Bentel joins the company as vice president of food safety and responsibility with 20 years of experience. Bentel previously worked at NSF International, Naturipe Farms and Wal-Mart.
J&J also expands regionally with Brian Helms as the assistant division manager at the White Pine, Tenn. facility and with Chris Paul as the head of sales and marketing at the new Midwest office based in New Glarus, Wis.
