The Leamington, Ontario-based Nature Fresh can market products with the Certified Greenhouse seal, which helps differentiate greenhouse-grown products, according to a news release.
The process of joining the group required a rigorous, independent, third-party audit based on the association’s certification standard, according to the release.
The audit checked for structural and environmental controls, water resource management, Integrated Pest Management procedures, plant nutrition management, ecosystem management and integrated waste management.
“From our first interactions with the Nature Fresh team, it was clear they shared in our values and commitment to growing with integrity, producing the highest quality greenhouse products on the market and continuous improvement,” Ed Beckman, the group’s president and chief executive officer, said in the release. “For that, we’re thrilled to welcome Nature Fresh as our newest member.”
Nature Fresh calls itself Canada’s largest independent greenhouse produce grower, and with more than 150 acres, the largest North American greenhouse bell pepper grower, according to the release.
