Produce distributor Richter and Co. has hired Jarrod Snider as director of vegetable commodity development.
Snider will be based in the Charlotte, N.C.-based company’s Southlake, Texas, office, according to a news release.
“In this new role, Jarrod will oversee the sales growth and development strategy of our vegetable commodity line and help facilitate our overall corporate growth initiatives,” Benjie Richter, president, said in the release. “We feel Jarrod’s experience and reputation throughout the industry will help Richter strengthen and expand our existing vegetable programs with Stanley Farms and Titan Farms.”
Richter and Co. is in the process of launching an aggressive sales and marketing campaign to promote its year–round sweet onion program. The company also is expanding its bell pepper, sweet potato and eggplant categories.
Snider has more than 17 years of experience in the fresh produce industry, most recently at Edinburg, Texas-based Frontera Produce Ltd., where he oversaw national account management. Snider also has worked for Dallas-based Standard Fruit & Vegetable Co. Inc. and Fresh Del Monte Inc., Coral Gables, Fla.
