New Jersey tomato packer plugs into the sun

The Santa Sweets tomato packinghouse in Lawrence Township, N.J., doesn't have to worry about costly energy bills any more, thanks to a 2-megawatt solar system on its roof and adjacent ground

The nearly $10 million project is expected to produce enough power to run the 200,000-square-foot packinghouse and its refrigerators without having to draw from the power grid.
