VITAMIN D PACKAGING
Watsonville, Calif.-based Monterey Mushroom Inc.’s new sliced baby brown bella mushrooms are vitamin D enriched, and should begin testing in retail markets on the West Coast in May, followed by the Midwest in June, says Michael Stephan, director of sales for the Central Region. Monterey developed a process that enhances the mushrooms' vitamin D value.

Aldi plans new stores in Florida

(May 9) Aldi Grocers plans to open 13 stores in Central Florida from September to November, according to the Orlando Sentinel. The German-based company also plans to open its $40 million Haines City distribution center in September, the newspaper reported.
