But a few years ago, when I discovered how easy it is to actually make cranberry sauce from real cranberries, I felt kind of silly. Really folks, it’s just cranberries, sugar and water and a few minutes on the stove.
The problem with that is that it’s also cranberries, sugar and water, a few minutes on the stove when the stove likely is cluttered with all the other trappings of a holiday feast, not to mention the heinous mess if you’re a…creative…cook like me.
So, when I saw Naturipe’s new microwaveable cranberry sauce kit as a judge for the Produce Marketing Association’s Impact Packaging Awards, I couldn’t wait to try it. (It’s too bad I have to wait til winners are announced. I was really impatient for this one.)
The kit itself was quick, easy and, most importantly, didn’t make a huge baked-on mess on my stove. And for the price point, $3.49 to $3.99, it was definitely something I’ll consider for my next big holiday meal
