Albert’s Organics Inc. is starting construction on a larger East Coast distribution facility that could become its biggest.

Albert’s OrganicsAlbert’s Organics Inc. is building a larger East Coast distribution facility in Logan, N.J. Construction is scheduled to be completed in April for the distribution center that could become the distributor’s busiest The Bridgeport, N.J.-based organic perishables distributor plans to relocate to the new facility in nearby Logan, N.J., after construction is scheduled to be completed in April.

The 70,000-square-foot facility is twice as large as Albert’s current distribution center and has 25,000 square feet of space available for future expansion, said Simcha Weinstein, director of marketing.

Weinstein said Albert’s has outgrown its Bridgeport operation, the distributor’s busiest facility.

“We feel we can more effectively and more efficiently take care of our customers if we have more space,” Weinstein said. “When you have lots of products coming in and going out, everyone wants their product at a certain day and time. Any efficiency in pulling your product and how it’s warehoused becomes vital so you can better service your customers.”

Albert’s OrganicsAlbert’s plans to relocate its headquarters to the Logan site once construction is completed, Weinstein said.

“The good news in that area, the Northeast is really one of the places where there’s constantly new stores opening and new business and a lot going on,” Weinstein said.

In southwest New Jersey, Logan Township is close to Bridgeport and about a 20-minute drive from Philadelphia.

The location offers easy distribution access to customers from Richmond, Va., to New York, Weinstein said.

Albert’s has distribution centers in Chesterfield, N.H., Charlotte, N.C., Sarasota, Fla., Mounds View, Minn., Aurora, Colo., and Vernon, Calif.
