Organics Unlimited is introducing a sampling program for retailers interested in carrying GROW-labeled bananas.

GROW — Giving Resources and Opportunities to Workers — funds educational and health programs for workers and their families, and the program runs through GROW Month, September.

“We believe our new sampling program will spark more interest in organic bananas and social responsibility among consumers,” said president Mayra Velazquez de Leon, in a news release.

Participating retailers are asked to educate consumers about GROW.

Organics Unlimited is also offering free, downloadable point-of-sale materials to participating retailers including a “Buy a Banana, Save a Life” poster. Banana bags made of recycled paper are also available.

Current GROW funds are going toward a clean water project, educational programs and health programs in Ecuador and Mexico, according to a news release.
