Bosch’s SVC 4020 SVC Hygienic VFFS Bagger, a vertical packaging machine platform, debuted at the show and sales support manager Michael Gensheimer called it an “ideal machine for hygienic applications requiring a washdown rating of IP-66 or higher,” such as salad mixes, fresh-cut vegetables and apple slices.

“It’s a continuous-motion machine launching now and everything is sloped on it for runoff.”

The machine is easy to clean and flexible, Gensheimer said, and can accommodate many bag styles.

Bosch’s CCM 3100 case packer is also geared to fresh produce.

“With its capacity to be combined with Bosch’s other packaging machines, the CCM 3100 solidifies Bosch as a single-source supplier, providing a flexible and adaptable secondary packaging solution for manufacturers that can be tailored to their needs and constraints,” said Craig Collett, director of HFFS and secondary packaging systems for Bosch.

The Waiblingen, Germany-based company also introduced a product distribution system for easy cleaning and maintenance.

Bosch also unveiled entry-level systems for small- to mid-sized companies wanting to introduce packing line automation.
