The company first discussed the additions at Pack Expo 2013 in September. The PrimaPak line launched a year ago.
The Elk Grove Village, Ill.-based developer and manufacturer of flexible and rigid packaging materials is offering two lid systems that accompany its PrimaPak flexible and stackable line of containers.
The Peel-and-Reseal lid offers lids that open easily and reseal themselves to the package with a tight touch, according to a news release.
Its formed semi-rigid snap lids create hinged lids that snap tight when resealed, according to the release.
In recent focus group testing, consumers rated the semi-rigid snap lids easier to close than zipper lock closures, according to the release.
The company recommends its Peel-and-Reseal lids for select fresh-cut fruits and vegetables, dried fruits, nuts and other food products.
Clear Lam also has launched Peel-and-Reseal lidding film products with companies including Ready Pac Foods Inc, Irwindale, Calif., and Pure Pacific Organics LLC, Salinas, Calif.
The new materials eliminate rigid thermoformed lids, shrink bands and printed paper labels, according to the release.
The films are designed to seal to existing polymer containers used for fresh produce, snack foods and ready-to-eat items.
Clear Lam has invested in developing the new packaging designs and equipment that offers processors, consumer product goods brand owners and manufacturers an integrated packaging solution, according to the release.
