“We are targeting any kind of product or produce that is sold in a container and that can be arranged into a pack pattern automatically,” said Kimberly Brown, sales and marketing administrator.
The Boxxer system, an established item in the company’s product line, was modified in 2012. It allows for sealing with glue or tape.
Product enters the system through an in-feed conveyor. It’s then stacked according to a pack pattern chosen by the operator.
During stacking, a knock-down case is pulled from a hopper and formed. Once the case is erected and the pack pattern met, product is loaded with a servo-driven mechanism into the top, bottom, or side of the case.
The case then passes through side-powered side belt conveyors. Glue or tape is applied. Later, case flaps are compressed and sealed and the case exits the machine.
The machine allows operators to control all processes, Brown said.
