The Irwindale, Calif., company introduced the fresh-cut line, which is expected to be available in August, at the United Fresh Produce Association annual convention in Dallas, May 1.
The line consists of 10 items. Four are kid-sized salad bowls with protein added. Also in the line are snacks and party platters.
Director of marketing Tristan Simpson said it will be the first in the Disney fresh produce line to feature protein in salads, aiming to compete on retail shelves with non-produce meals aimed at children.
She said the packaging isn't available for release, but they will feature well-known Disney characters, and parents will recognize the Ready Pac brand as one healthier than many products aimed at kids.
The line should be available in retail, club and mass merchandise stores that carry fresh products.
