Florida Citrus Mutual elects officers

Florida Citrus Mutual, Lakeland, Fla., elected officers for the 2012-13 season at the Mutual 64th annual meeting.

Mark Wheeler, chief financial officer of Wheeler Farms Inc., Lake Placid, Fla., will be Mutual’s president, according to a news release.

WheelerWheeler succeeds Victor Story Jr. who will remain on Mutual’s executive committee.

“Over the past two years Vic Story has done a tremendous job as president of Mutual,” Michael Sparks, Mutual’s executive vice president and chief executive officer, said in the release. “Mark has a tough act to follow but I know he is up for the challenge and I look forward to working with him.”

Mutual’s vice presidents for the 2012-13 season are: Bo Bentley, Winter Haven, Fla.; Kevin Bynum, Vero Beach, Fla.; Larry Black, Fort Meade, Fla.; and Steve Johnson, Wauchula, Fla. Steve Sorrells of Arcadia,Fla., was re-elected as secretary and Dennis Broadaway, Haines City, Fla., was re-elected as treasurer, according to the release.

Bentley will represent the western area; Bynum will represent the eastern area; Black will represent the northern area; and Johnson will represent the southern area.
