Almost 30 produce companies are scheduled to be in the Produce Marketing Association’s pavilion at the National Grocers Association trade show in February as the produce group expands its presence at the event.

The PMA pavilion is planned for the center of the expo floor, association officials said in a news release. It will be a hub for 28 produce companies, as well as representatives from the entire fresh produce supply chain. The event is set for Feb. 10-13 at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas.

Several leaders from the fresh produce industry are on the agenda. PMA president Bryan Silbermann is scheduled to moderate a breakfast session: “Fresh Foods: Consumer, Marketplace and Environmental Trends.”

PMA board chairwoman Jan DeLyser, vice president of the California Avocado Commission, is scheduled as a keynote speaker. Her presentation is “America’s Debt and Deficit Crisis: Issues and Solutions with Alan Simpson and Erskine Bowles.”
