Apple foundation awards $600,000 in scholarships

Wenatchee, Wash.-based Washington Apple Education Foundation has awarded $600,000 in scholarships to over 150 students for the fall.

The foundation plans to award an additional $50,000 by the end of summer.

The funds awarded are contributions from industry members and fundraisers.

The scholarships were awarded to students who were raised in the state’s growing districts: Benton County, Chelan County, Douglas County, Franklin County, Grant County, Okanogan County, Walla Walla County, Yakima County and Oregon, according to a news release.
