Dole Food Co. Inc., Westlake Village, Calif., is set to sponsor Let’s Move California!: Fitness Feria, a free community event to engage children and educate parents about nutrition and a healthier lifestyles, according to a news release.
Dole has previously worked with the national Let’s Move! by donating salad bars to schools, funding teaching gardens and supplying nutrition material to schools across the country, according to the release.
“Dole has been a leader in nutrition education for kids for the last 25 years and we’re thrilled to participate in this event with Let’s Move California!,” said Marty Ordman, vice president of marketing and communications for Dole Food Company, Inc. in the release.
Dole will provide fresh fruit to all in attendance and other healthy snacks.
Celebrity chefs will be featured at the event along with free medical screenings, cooking demonstrations and nutrition information.
The event will be June 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Robert F. Kennedy Schools located at 701 South Catalina St. in Los Angeles.
