Pamela RiemenschneiderSprouts Farmers Market opened the third of four new stores in Texas on August 27. I took a sneak peek the night before grand opening. I took advantage of an offer from the new Sprouts Farmers Market in Cedar Park, Texas to come look and shop the night before grand opening.
This new store, a ground-up build in the North Austin suburbs, opened August 27. They offered “tickets” to a preview sale, along with a 10% off coupon, for the first 1,000 Facebook fans who signed up.
I picked up a couple of tickets, though no one actually collected them, and went to have a look.
This is one of the largest Sprouts I’ve ever seen, and is a standalone store across the street from a Randalls. It is at least mile to the closest H.E. Butt Co., store, though, which is definitely a bonus for Sprouts.
Within about five miles there are two H-E-Bs, including an H-E-B Plus!, two SuperTargets, a Randalls, two Wal-Mart Supercenters, a Costco and a Natural Grocers, but the next closest Sprouts is in Round Rock or North Austin, at least a 15 minute drive away.
This store had a soup bar, something I’ve not seen at Sprouts before, and an expanded prepared foods section. It’s the third of four Texas stores the company has opened over the past few weeks.
Sprouts recently announced plans to open more stores in Utah, California, Georgia and Alabama.
