C.H. Robinson, FoodLink Online and Thermo King are among the companies honored by Food Logistics magazine in its list of the top 100 software and technology providers to the food industry.

The annual list is not a ranking. It was announced in December.

The magazine praised Eden Prairie, Minn.-based C.H. Robinson’s Navisphere technology platform for managing risk and maintaining visibility through the supply chain, among other contributions.

Food Logistics cited six technologies from Los Gatos, Calif.-based FoodLink Online.

FoodLink“FoodLink is the perishables purchasing platform used by the majority of top fresh food wholesalers, and has added more retail buyers in the past year than all other fresh purchasing solutions combined,” the magazine said. It numbered FoodLink’s customers at 2,000.

Thermo King, Bloomington, Minn., a transportation refrigeration manufacturer, was the first transport refrigeration manufacturer to get Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board certification for 2013 engines above 25 horsepower, according to the magazine. It did so without using a diesel particulate filter. Its products include TracKing and CargoLink wireless door sensors.

Cooltrax, Nashua, N.H., was cited for its Fresh inTransit, Fresh inStore and Fresh inSide products. Fresh inTransit tracks the location of refrigerated trailers and reefers and monitors reefer temperatures, among other functions.

“Our organization is very proud to be recognized once again this year as one of the industry’s leading providers of technology solutions,” Kurien Jacob, chief executive officer of AFS Technologies Inc., another honoree, said in a news release.

Some of the others honored included Dade Service, a Daytona Beach, Fla.-based company that offers ripening controls; Descartes Systems Group; Intelleflex; Junction Solutions; and PakSense.
