Damco hires to boost presence in Latin America

Copenhagen, Denmark-based Damco hired five people to expand in Latin America.

Stefan Bengtsson joined Damco as chief finance officer for the Latin America office in Panama City. He previously worked for Kuehne & Nagel Brazil as CFO for 9 years.

Sune Stilling was transferred from his role as managing director for West Africa to the position of chief operating officer for Latin America in Panama, according to a news release.

Antonio Morciano joined Damco as the regional head of ocean freight. Morciano has almost 30 years in the industry with logistics management roles in Europe, the U.S. and Latin America.

David Juarez was appointed regional vertical head of retail and lifestyle for Latin America. Juarez previously worked from Damco in Spain.

Enrique Fajardo joined Damco as managing director for the Andean cluster, consisting of Columbia and Ecuador. Fajardo has worked in the industry for over 18 years. He will continue to be based in Columbia.

“Latin America is a major emerging market for Damco and we will ambitiously grow our customer base here,” Humberto Florez, regional chief executive officer, said in the release.
