A Dole product has been named best salad kit by Health Magazine, part of its annual Healthy Food Awards.

Dole’s Spinach Cherry Almond Bleu kit is one of 29 new food products in various categories honored by the magazine, according to a news release. It was the only packaged salad kit named.

Spinach Cherry Almond Bleu was one of three packaged salads launched by Monterey, Calif.-based Dole Fresh Vegetables in April. Dole kits have been labeled all-natural since last year, and have no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.

“Our new Spinach Cherry Almond Bleu kit was created as a deliciously easy way for our consumers to incorporate the many health benefits of spinach into their diets,” Ronda Reed, vice president of marketing, said in the release. “This latest honor from Health Magazine is more proof of its increasing popularity with salad and health fans alike.”

Spinach-based blends and kits are a fast-growing salad variety – often the only reason spinach consumers buy in the category – according to Michelle Gonsalves, director of new products.

The 8.4-ounce kit retails for $3.99.

Have had this salad in California, but cannot find this salad in the Milwaukee area. Can you tell me what grocers have this kit. It was delicious
