A Northwest produce packaging distributor is expanding its product line by acquiring a wooden bins and pallets manufacturer.
H.R. Spinner Corp., Yakima, Wash., has agreed in principle to acquire J&J Wood Products of Naches, Wash.
Spinner manufactures corrugated containers, trays, clamshells and related items.
The addition provides another packaging venue for the 96-year-old Spinner, according to a news release.
Spinner plans to name the new firm Spinner Wood Products LLC.
Cory Groves will remain with the company as vice president of manufacturing, while Gary Remsberg, Spinner’s vice president of special projects, is set to oversee the transition and manage future operations. Spinner’s president Ed Jewett remains president.
Spinner operates plants in Yakima and East Wenatchee, Wash.
“In 1916, HR Spinner was founded on wood products,” Jewett said in the release. “Now we’ve come full circle. With this acquisition we add another category of products to the offerings.”
Spinner publicized the pending acquisition on May 3.
