Stickles John Stickles, a Florida strawberry grower, died July 26. He was 57.
Born in Oceanside, Calif., Stickles was general manager and partner with Dover-based Florida Pacific Farms, which markets fruit through Watsonville, Calif.-based Driscoll Strawberry Associates Inc.
A board member of the Maitland-based Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association, Stickles also served on the boards of the Dover-based Florida Strawberry Growers Association and the Gainesville-based Florida Farm Bureau.
Stickles is survived by his wife of 27 years, Kim Stickles, a daughter, two brothers, a sister and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were scheduled for July 30 at the Florida Strawberry Growers Association’s offices.
Stickles’ family plans to bury him at sea off the shores of Oceanside at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Stickles’ memory to the Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association’s Specialty Crop Foundation, P.O. Box 948153, Maitland, FL, 32794.
