Fresh Hass Avocado Pulp also comes in a 2-pound pouch, 8-ounce plastic tub and customized sizes and packs. The 2-ounce cups target single uses for sandwich spreads, dips or school lunches, according to a news release. Nationwide retail distribution of the four-pack has begun.
It comes with a quick-response code consumers can scan for recipes and use ideas.
The product cuts out consumer preparation time, according to Dennis Christou, North American vice president of marketing for Coral Gables, Fla.-based Del Monte Fresh.
“It will also help initiate trial for those who may never have purchased avocados before and are not quite sure about how to pick, prepare or use them,” Christou said in the release. “We really see these value-added avocado products as a way to help increase sales and consumption for the entire avocado category.”
The new pack and other Del Monte Fresh avocado products will be on display at booth 2602 at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit in Anaheim, Calif., Oct. 26-28.
Earlier this year, Del Monte Fresh’s pulp product received the Superior Taste Award from the International Taste and Quality Institute.
