Hronis Inc. supplied more than 2 tons of table grapes to the San Gennaro Feast of Los Angeles, where its fruit was also featured in a sangria drink.
Jimmy Kimmel and comedian Adam Carolla hosted the event, a showcase for Italian food and culture. The event, which draws more than 40,000 visitors annually, was staged Sept. 28-30 behind Kimmel’s television studio.
The sangria was served by Rocco’s Italian Kitchen and Sports Tavern. Hronis Ranch banners were displayed at its 30-foot square bar and at beverage booths throughout the grounds.
“It was a nice surprise to have our table grapes included as a featured ingredient in a noted Southern California Italian bar and restaurant’s sangria drink,” Pete Hronis, vice president of marketing, said in a news release.
Varieties available for sampling and purchase included autumn king, scarlet royal and autumn royal. Grapes were available at two booths and at more than 50 tables where visitors watched musicians and comedians perform.
Proceeds went to more than 40 civic and cultural organizations that benefit underprivileged and homeless children through the nonprofit San Gennaro Foundation.
