Tom Wason has been promoted to president of Heyburn, Idaho-based 20/20 Produce.
He succeeds Mark Williams, who is now chief operating officer. Williams will manage a supply chain that includes apples, potatoes, onions and other fruits and vegetables.
Wason had been a managing partner and board member since joining the company in April. After joining, he continued to serve as vice president of foodservice distribution for Tempe, Ariz.-based Sun Orchard Inc., a role he held from 2008 on.
He became president of 20/20 Produce Aug. 26, according to a news release.
Previously Wason worked for Sysco Corp. in various roles from 1989 to 2006, starting as a senior merchandiser of produce in Salinas, Calif. He spent his last six years at Sysco as vice president, overseeing perishables, produce, frozen fruits and vegetables, french fries and marketing services.
Wason spent 20 years in retail grocery before joining Sysco.
In other moves, 20/20 Produce founder Bob Williams will become chairman and consult on projects. Colin Gibson will be promoted to vice president of sales.
Wason served on the Produce Marketing Association board from 1996 to 1998. He lives in Tucson, Ariz., and Burley, Idaho.
