Austin MigottiMigottiAustin Migotti, a salesman and commodity manager for Salinas, Calif.-based Coastline Produce, died in a car accident April 11. He was 27.

Austin began to work in Coastline sales in January 2011, after graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo the year before. He soon became commodity manager for parsley, Italian parsley, cilantro, spinach, leeks, bok choy and napa cabbage.

A memorial mass is scheduled for April 19 at St. Theodore’s Church in Gonzales, Calif. Migotti was a Gonzales resident.

“Austin was like everyone’s brother, (according to) a close customer who had a daily relationship with him,” said Vivian Sotelo, marketing manager at Coastline Produce. “He was also up for anything. Whether it was a last-minute camping trip or you needed him to sub for a Saturday at work, he was always ready and willing.”

“Austin was the heart of Coastline’s excitement and jokes,” she said.

Migotti was a member of Young Farmers and Ranchers, San Luis Obispo; and of the San Luis Obispo Vintners and Growers Association.

Survivors include his parents, Steve Migotti and Valerie Migotti.

Memorial donations are earmarked for Woods Humane Society, San Luis Obispo, Calif.

It was a pleasure to know and work with Austin. This is a tremendous loss and our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at Coastline.
