The package includes romaine lettuce, broccoli, red cabbage, celery, an Italian cheese blend, green onions, salami and parsley.
Shipments began the week of May 7, according to a news release.
Salinas, Calif.-based Taylor Farms’ other chopped salad kits include Asian, BBQ ranch, garden vegetable and Southwest.
The Italian kit was developed with input from consumers through Taylor Farms’ website and social networks.
“Consumers are connecting with the flavor combinations and the flexibility the kits offer to create snacks or full family meals by adding in proteins and grains,” Vicky St.Geme, vice president of marketing, said in the release.
The line of chopped salads launched nationwide in July 2011 with three kits.
