The AP550 Flat-Surface Label Applicator can be used for labels on packages, bags, boxes and other packaging materials, according to a news release from Plymouth, Minn.-based Primera.

The AP550 is a semi-automatic applicator that allows labels to be applied straight, without wrinkles or folds, in the location desired, according to the release.

With the AP550, users place a container in the mechanism and pull the arm towards the container. Variable spacing, memory for up to nine jobs, and a counter with built-in LED display are included, and no air-pressure supply is required.

“The AP550 Label Applicator is an affordable, easy-to-use device that helps our customers increase their production rates,” Mark Strobel, Primera’s vice president of sales and marketing, said in the release. “Perhaps even more important, it significantly enhances product image.”

Primera also makes color label printers and digital label presses.

The AP550 costs $2,495.
