The Salinas, Calif.-based grower-shipper is scheduled for booth 1019A at the Oct. 18-20 trade show in New Orleans.
The two vegetable salad kits are dubbed Cantina Crunch and Asian Citrus Crunch. Gina Nucci, director of healthy culinary innovation at Mann Packing, said in a news release that both answer a growing demand for convenience.
Vegetable kit dollars and volume posted gains of double digits or more for the year ending June 28, according to Nielsen Perishables Group FreshFacts.
The Veggie Mac-n-Cheese meal kits, first shipped in January, are a finalist for the PMA Impact award for packaging. They’re available in classic cheddar with broccoli and bacon cheddar with broccoli. Fresh pasta accompanies the cheese sauce and fresh broccoli. Each package contains three 1-cup servings.
At PMA Fresh Summit, Mann Packing also plans to display its Scarlett Butter and Honey Gem whole head lettuces for foodservice. The grower-shipper introduced them in July at the PMA Foodservice Conference & Expo.
