Able Freight Services Inc.Able Freight Services Inc. and A1 Cold Storage & Handling Inc. have implemented the AiroCide food safety preventive controls and sanitation technology in their cold storage warehouses.

Los Angeles-based Able Freight, which merged last July with A1 Cold Storage, exports more than 75,000 tons of perishables annually.

AiroCide is manufactured and distributed by Atlanta-based KES Science and Technology Inc. Its photo catalytic oxidation system targets airborne mold, fungi, food allergens, bacteria, odors, viruses and volatile organic compounds and their emissions, according to a news release. Such compounds include ethylene gas.

The food safety technology aims at maximum shelf life and reduced spoilage.
