Ag Knowledge ready for applicants

Salinas, Calif.-based Grower-Shipper Association Foundation is accepting applications through Feb. 24 for its annual Ag Knowledge leadership program.

The nine-month program educates more than 20 representatives of various industries and the public sector about Monterey County agriculture. They spend one Friday a month attending forums, visiting farms and processing facilities, or meeting industry leaders, according to a news release.

The program focuses on the interdependencies of agriculture, local government, and the community. Topics include food safety; labor and immigration; technology; marketing; conservation; urban-agriculture interfacing; air and water; and more.
