California shippers Sunsation Farms Inc., Bolthouse Farms, Grimmway Farms, Taylor Farms, Dayka & Hackett LLC and Farm Fresh provided enough for two loads of vegetables and fruit. Cargo included potatoes, carrots, grapes, celery, broccoli, spinach, and green beans.
Wanship Enterprises hauled both loads and J&E Arias provided local deliveries in the Los Angeles region. It’s the eighth straight year that Allen Lund Co. and its carriers have donated transportation for Navidad en el Barrio.
“It’s so wonderful to be able to provide fresh produce and meals to these families,” Nora Trueblood, Allen Lund Co. director of marketing, said in a news release.
The transport company and two more of its carriers — Bess Trucking and Lessors Inc. — also donated a pair of trucks for Wreaths Across America. More than 6,000 wreaths were distributed to Arlington National Cemetery and to veterans’ cemeteries in Minnesota.
