Bill Munger, president of the Scottsdale, Ariz.-based company, said in a news release that Meissner’s experience on both the buying and selling sides of the produce supply chain made him a good choice for the leadership position.
Meissner most recently was chief operating officer with Southern Specialties, Pompano, Fla. In his new job with Amerifresh he will be responsible for retail, foodservice and international sales as well as marketing efforts.
Earlier in his career, Meissner was vice president of sales for River Ranch, Salinas, Calif., and corporate produce manager for Supervalu, Eden Prairie, Minn.
Amerifresh markets the Snoboy brand and markets produce from North America, Mexico, Chile and New Zealand. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Services Group of America.
