“Todd and I have worked very closely together over the years,” he said, in a news release. “I have the greatest confidence in his ability to lead our company to even greater success by working through our teammates to provide our customers with the best values and the highest quality goods and services.”
Anthony Hucker, former president of Landover, Md.-based Giant Food who also worked at Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Batavia, Ill.-based Aldi Inc., also joined the company in September as executive vice president and chief strategy officer. He plans to succeed Todd Schnuck as executive vice president and chief operating officer in March.
Under Scott Schnuck, the company expanded into new formats and prototypes, including its urban Culinaria downtown St. Louis store. These new formats were designed to appeal to professional as well as home chefs.
“Reflecting on 75 years of serving customers, each era of leadership has had an impact in shaping the company we are today,” said Scott Schnuck, in a news release. “My brother Craig did an incredible job of guiding us into new and innovative formats that fueled growth and expansion. In my time, I’ve take the company down a new path, a new direction that should ensure no matter what challenges come, Schnucks will continue to be a strong and profitable company for our teammates and for our customers.”
