Retail shipments of the 12-ounce kit began nationwide in April.
In the bag are sugar snap peas, carrots, napa cabbage, broccoli, bok choy and red cabbage with a pack of roasted peanuts and a ginger dressing.
The kit joins another — the sweet kale vegetable salad kit — in the company’s Gourmet Selections line, Cali Tanguay, Apio director of marketing and technology, said in a news release.
Apio is marketing ingredients in both as superfoods, referring to their phytochemicals and nutrients. On the center of packaging for both products, a number represents those ingredients — six for the new kit, seven for the kale item introduced late last year.
The kale kit includes broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, kale, chicory, dried cranberries, roasted pumpkin seeds and poppyseed dressing.
