Consumers are urged to submit their favorite bite-sized creations featuring apples and apple products, according to a news release.
“While apples and apple products are available year-round, National Apple Month puts the spotlight on the all-American fruit, at the peak of the U.S. apple harvest, reminding us it’s a great time to sample the wide range of apple varieties on the market and introduce products like applesauce, apple cider and apple jelly into our snacks and meals,” Allison Parker, the association’s director of consumer health and education, said in the release.
There will be one winner in each of three categories: most kid-friendly, best raw pairing, and, best use of apple product, according to the release. Recipes and photographs will be accepted through Oct. 31 at www.USAppleBlog.org/recipe-contest.
Winners will receive $200 VISA gift cards and will be featured on USAppleBlog.org.
