Frieda’s Specialty Produce, Los Alamitos, Calif., is encouraging produce companies and grocery retailers to share their appreciation for produce managers on the third annual Love Your Produce Manager Day, April 2.
Frieda’s started Love Your Produce Manager Day in 2012 in recognition of the role produce managers play in increasing produce consumption.
This year, Frieda’s has added an extra incentive to encourage participation. By posting the Love Your Produce Manager logo and using #LYPM on company websites, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram from April 1 to 7, Frieda’s will make donation to the ‘Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools’ campaign.
The messages must be posted by 11:59 p.m. on April 7 and the downloadable logo can be found on Frieda’s website.
“Produce Managers are the unsung heroes of the healthy eating revolution, quietly playing a key role in increasing the consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables by U.S. consumers,” said Karen Caplan, president and chief executive officer of Frieda’s, “and we want to salute them the best way we can.”
